Wobbling Runts is a neutral minion card, from the League of Explorers set.

How to get[]

Two copies of regular Wobbling Runts are obtained by defeating Arch-Thief Rafaam, the third boss in The League of Explorers's fourth wing, the Hall of Explorers.

As a Wild format card, both regular and golden versions of Wobbling Runts can also be crafted for the following amounts:

Strategy[]

This card has low stats for its cost. Its true power does not come into play until its Deathrattle triggers. Unless your opponents manages to silence this card, they will usually choose to ignore the card, forcing you to kill off the minion - which, given its low attack and high health, can sometimes be troublesome.

This card has some synergy with Baron Rivendare, allowing the Deathrattle to summon up to 6 runts. Although that case is rare, it can eventually lead to Reliquary Seeker's massive boost. Even if some minions are removed, additional minions can be played and the previous combo mentioned makes it much easier to fulfill Reliquary Seeker's potential.

Be careful when playing this card against a Priest, as it is easily vulnerable to Cabal Shadow Priest and Potion of Madness.

The Runts appear similar to pygmies, small humanoids related to goblins, normally found on the Lost Isles and in Uldum. More specifically, they greatly resemble the Pygmy Thieves, pygmies attempting to steal dates from the Tahret Grounds in Uldum by standing on each other's shoulders in stacks of three. A quest given by the nearby Nomarch Teneth requires using a mallet to smash the thieves.

The concept for the Wobbling Runts card is that the Runts at first fight in a teetering tower; when knocked over, they dissemble and fight individually.[1]

Trivia[]

  • The designers intentionally arranged for the individual Runts to be drawn by a different artist than the main Wobbling Runts card, with the two referencing each other in order to ensure an overall cohesion.[2] This was intended to help players to easily distinguish between them when playing, while making the individual Runts feel part of a group.[3]
