- The new evolved minion will be exhausted by summoning sickness and unable to attack this turn, unless it transforms into a minion with Rush or Charge.

Strategy[]
Compared to 
Evolve, this card is better suited to evolve one or few minions into a much higher costing minion rather than many at once. Since this spell is repeatable, you have better control over the outcome since you can "reroll" an evolution if the outcome is bad or unfavorable.
Since the repeated casts function like any other spell, cards that synergize with multiple spell casts like 
Arcane Giant and 
Gadgetzan Auctioneer work well with this card.
Be warned that, when Evolving into a 6-cost or an 8-cost minion, that you have the chance of rolling a 
Nerubian Unraveler or a 
Naga Sea Witch, respectively, which may throw off your Evolution chain.
If you get an Archmage Antonidas from evolution you can gain a lot of Fireballs.
This card has notable synergy with 
Krag'wa, the Frog, which returns all copies of Unstable Evolution played as fresh copies, giving you many more uses out of Unstable Evolution over several turns.
Should you get 
Mistwraith randomly from Evolution or as a Rogue obtainining Unstable Evolution while you have a Mistwraith, it can gain massive amounts of stats from playing repetitive Unstable Evolution.

Trivia[]
- Unstable Evolution used to be "Repeatable this turn" instead of "Echo". This was changed because of Radiance of Azshara which causes Unstable Evolution to discount its cost to 0 mana allowing the player to play infinite amounts of Unstable Evolutions in one turn. Unlike Radiant Elemental or Sorcerer's Apprentice, Radiance of Azshara is a Shaman card which can be included alongside Unstable Evolution which always reliability achieve this interaction. This change was made to pre-emptively prevent the interaction.
