Tar Lord is an exceptionally powerful defensive minion, becoming a formidable 5/11 Taunt on your opponent's turn.
Being a strong Taunt, this card is great for working on Fire Plume's Heart.
Lore[]
Tar Lords are tar beasts found near the Lakkari Tar Pits in Un'Goro Crater. They share a model with bog beasts in World of Warcraft, but are instead represented as tar elementals in Hearthstone.
Trivia[]
- All three tar elementals in Hearthstone share a common ability, as Taunt minions with 1 attack during your turn but higher attack during your opponent's. The other two are Tar Lurker and Tar Creeper.
- This card's flavor text is a reference to the 2014 film Guardians of the Galaxy.[1]
