Garona will kill all three of the horde leaders if you allow her to attack, so killing her in the 1st turn should be a priority.

This requires trading one of them: the ideal is using Rehgar after trigging his Spellburst (to get a Totem) via using Backstab against either Cult Master (2 health) or Garom (to trigger his +5 attack).

Using the Windfury imparted by Thrall you can kill the two cultists using your hero in the first turn, but their 4 attack will lower Valeera to 26 then 22 health, so it's a risk. The main reason would be to guard your remaining heroes against them, or to prevent their card-drawing text. Valeera's hero power only steals cards from the Deck of the enemy, so if Stasia draws more cards that's fewer Valeera can steal later.

The three Horde leaders leave the field after the 1st turn regardless of whether or not they're killed, so it's actually best to have Thrall or Rehgar kill off one of the cultists (while the other puts Garona down) while a Backstab-boosted Garom inflicts Face damage. Or: defensively, the heroes can just all kill off the 3 initial enemy minions (saving Backstab for later) at the cost of not enjoying the free totem which Rehgar gives. Or backstab can be used to kill off a cultist while one of the heroes attacks face: ideally Garrosh as he has the highest attack, even without the +5 rage boost.

Valeera's ability, assuming she can survive long enough, can damage Stasia by Fatigue as her deck runs out sooner.

Varian costing 1 mana can be played in the 1st turn. Jaina should be played ASAP since even if she dies she's shuffled into deck.

Getting rid of spells in hand helps to lower damage the enemy hero power will do.

When Garona re-awakens it may be worth it to sacrifice Varian and a 2nd minion (like Underbelly Fence) to take her out, to save your Totem from her 3-minion attack spread.

Varian is Dormant longer than Garona (3 turns v 2) and his dormant spot can be used to space out other minions on either side so that if she can't be put down the turn after awakening and does manage to get off an attack, she can't board-clear.

Spectral Cutlass and Deadly Poison will allow one-hitting Garona using your hero, and playing non-Rogue spells (such as Mage spells acquired via Wand Thief) can extend it's durability. Having 4 attack also allows Steeldancer's battlecry to be better exploited: a random 4-mana minion instead of 2-mana.

Before match

Valeera (present)
With great effort, and Broll's medicines, I was able to subdue the demon inside me.
Returning to Stormwind, we helped Varian reclaim his throne and resume his diplomatic work.
Jaina Proudmoore invited him to a meeting with the Horde leaders in Theramore, but we were soon ambushed...

Stasia Fallshadow
Strike them down!
Varian, on your guard!

Emote Response

Hero Power

Stasia Fallshadow
Everyone is against you.
Fight amongst yourselves...
No one is on your side.

Stasia Fallshadow
Darkness is the only future that awaits you.
Do you hear the whispering? Twilight comes...
Shatter the peace... embrace the shards of chaos...

Turn 1

Varian Wrynn
We came here to meet with the Horde, and now other Horde members attack us!
It could be a coincidence... maybe?

Turn 2

Warchief Thrall
These are not my warriors!
Garrosh Hellscream
Hiring undead assassins sounds like an Alliance ruse to me. It is time we left!
Warchief Thrall
I am sorry, Jaina. It was a worthy effort.

Turn 3

Jaina Proudmoore
Please, everyone stay calm! We can defeat her and figure out what really happened here.
Varian Wrynn
There is no point. They have broken our trust!

Turn 4

Garona Halforcen
You'll meet your father's fate, King of Stormwind.
Don't you dare!

Stasia Fallshadow
I regret that this meeting was a failure, Lady Proudmoore.
Jaina Proudmoore
We took one of the attackers prisoner. Maybe she knows something?
She probably just knows how to make me angry.

Stasia Fallshadow
All has fallen into place. The master will be pleased to hear it...

Stasia Fallshadow is a Forsaken mage who had a special talent for translating ancient tomes. Around the time of Onyxia's death she arrived to the Pools of Vision, where she used a scroll that she had received from an orc shaman a few months before in Outland. It was a prophecy about the savior of Azeroth. Stasia saw visions of the assassination of Llane Wrynn by the hand of Garona Halforcen. Garona birthed a child that she gave to Meryl Firestorm. She immediately set out for Duskwood where she attacked Meryl and Med'an but instead captured and brought Garona Halforcen to Cho'gall in Ahn'Qiraj.
Later she and Garona led a force of Twilight's Hammer cultists in an attempt to kill King Varian Wrynn, Prince Anduin Wrynn, Warchief Thrall, as well as abduct Med'an in Theramore. She only succeeded at the last count, using magic to subdue Med'an. She was the first one to predict him to be the "savior of Azeroth", and that whoever controls the boy will hold the key to Azeroth's fate. She tried to get Garona killed but did not manage to do that and took captured Med'an to Cho'gall.
