Silence Priest or Purify Priest is a Priest deck type that is characterized by using Silence effects on one's own minions to change cards with serious drawbacks (such as "Can't attack") into cheap high-stat minions. The deck type has been tried at least since the Karazhan expansion, with people trying to make a deck around One Night in KarazhanPurify, generally considered a very bad card, but it gained enough popularity to become part of the meta after the release of Journey to Un'Goro.

Gameplay

The idea of the deck is to play cards that cannot attack (such as LegacyAncient Watcher), which then are silenced with Silence, One Night in KarazhanPurify or other silence effects, and/or receive taunt through cards such as LegacySunfury Protector. Another card used often is LegacyInner Fire, which when played on Journey to Un'GoroHumongous Razorleaf creates a very strong minion. With a perfect draw, CoreThe Coin and Humongous Razorleaf can be played on turn 2, followed by Silence, LegacyDivine Spirit, and Inner Fire, producing a 16/16 minion attacking on turn 3.
