Selfless Hero is a tier 1 minion in the Battlegrounds game mode.
Notes
- Selfless Hero's Deathrattle will only give Divine Shield to a random minion which doesn't have Divine Shield already.
Strategy
Selfless Hero is fairly weak during the early game. Its 1 Health means it loses to most other tier 1 minions, and the relative weakness of other early game minions means that the Divine Shield it gives isn't an especially strong buff.
In the late game, however, Selfless Hero is much stronger, as it can give one of your powerful late-game minions Divine Shield while potentially removing one of your opponent's Divine Shields. Selfless Hero is best used to fill your Battlecry slot or replace your Brann Bronzebeard or Lightfang Enforcer once you no longer plan on buffing your minions (for example, if you're going into the last fight, or if your minions are already so large that buffs no longer matter). Selfless Hero also combos well with Monstrous Macaw and Baron Rivendare, allowing you to spread Divine Shield to even more of your minions.
