Warning: there is more than one data page for cards with this name.

Please identify which of these data pages are for the card this page is supposed to cover. Data:Cards/Savagery(148), Data:Cards/Savagery(465012) Once it is identified, please edit this page and use the |datapage parameter on {{Card infobox}} to ensure data is pulled from the correct page.

As an example, if the correct data page is Data:Cards/Barrel(376), then this page would need {{Card infobox|datapage=Barrel(376)}} to ensure it finds the correct page.

Savagery is a rare druid spell card, from the Classic set.

How to get

Savagery can be obtained through Classic card packs, through crafting, or as an Arena reward. Regular Savagery can also be obtained through the Highest Rank Bonus chest at the end of a Ranked season, or as a first-time reward for first time reaching Silver 10 or Gold 10 in Ranked mode.

Card Crafting cost Disenchanting
Savagery 100 20
Golden Savagery 800 100

Notes

  • Savagery is affected by abilities that increase Spell Damage, even when your hero has no Attack.[1]
  • Savagery will no longer be offered for selection in Arena, since the 15th of September 2016.[2] However, it is still obtainable in Arena matches through random effects, such as The Grand TournamentSpellslinger.

Strategy

If the druid has Spell Damage on the board, this card can be used to deal damage even if the druid has no Attack. This means that with 10 mana, a druid may play LegacyMalygos, two Moonfires (6 damage each), and Savagery (5 damage) for a total of 17 damage. However, as Savagery can only damage minions, this amount of damage is rarely needed.

Druids can increase their Attack through LegacyShapeshift, LegacyBite, LegacyClaw, The Grand TournamentSavage Combatant, and/or LegacySavage Roar.

Since druids do not have any cards that equip weapons, and all druid sources of Attack are temporary, it is typically necessary to either use another ability earlier that turn to gain Attack, or have a source of Spell Damage in play, in order to make use of Savagery. A druid can, however, obtain weapons through other means. For example, by copying a paladin's LegacyTirion Fordring using LegacyFaceless Manipulator, the druid can equip LegacyAshbringer, causing Savagery to deal at least five damage. In Wild format, Goblins vs GnomesBlingtron 3000 is another alternative.
