Strategy[edit | edit source]

As in all Inspire minions, it is generally recommended to play it and use the Hero Power on the same turn for extra value, as this card trades poorly with most 4-drops due to its low Health. Also, to get more Squires, it's recommended to place the Recruiter behind a Taunt to help it to survive long enough to be activated multiple times.

Recruiter has good synergy with cards like Coldarra Drake and Fencing Coach which allow the Hero Power to be used multiple times and for free. This is essentially a slower but more lucrative Silver Hand Knight, with +1 Attack. The pace of the Recruiter is slower due to the Squire being added to the hand and not immediately summoned. However, the potential for repeated Squire generation means with 2 or more Hero Power activations this can be considered a superior option, at least in terms of longevity.

In a Highlander Priest deck with the Death Knight and Raza active, playing Recruiter on 10 Mana lets you immediately play five Squires and use your Hero Power 7 times (once before playing the Recruiter), dealing 14 damage, putting 15/14 of stats on the board, and leaving another Squire in your hand.

Lore[edit | edit source]

Much like the Questing Adventurer and Garrison Commander, this card is likely meant to represent a player character in World of Warcraft; more specifically, a player trying to recruit new members to his guild. This is reinforced by the fact that the tabard seen on the artwork is one of the available designs for guild tabards in WoW.
