Dave Kosak
Dave Kosak is a former Blizzard employee, member of Team 5, and Lead Mission Designer for Hearthstone.[1] He was previously the Lead Narrative Designer for World of Warcraft, but joined the Hearthstone team in November 2016.[2]
In October 2020, Kosak left Blizzard and joined Deviation Games.

- Kosak is responsible for the character of
Patches the Pirate, created during a "brainstorming session" between the Hearthstone team and the World of Warcraft story team, prior to Kosak's joining Team 5.[3][4][5] - According to his World of Warcraft profile, prior to joining Blizzard, Kosak was "a co-founder and original creative director of GameSpy and the creator of the popular Flintlocke’s Guide to Azeroth and Flintlocke vs. The Horde webcomics".[6]

- The first epic weapon Kosak ever obtained in World of Warcraft was Sul'thraze the Lasher. As a result, he was particularly excited to see
Sul'thraze make its way into Hearthstone with the Rastakhan's Rumble expansion.[7][8]
