Kalimos, Primal Lord full

By the elements combined!

Elemental Shaman is a Shaman deck type that utilizes Elemental synergy in a midrange style. The deck aims to curve out, playing strong Elemental cards each turn.

Midrange Elemental Shaman is a flexible deck that is capable of reacting to a variety of different matchups due to the versatility of Shaman class cards. It uses early game tempo cards to secure the early game and fend off aggressive decks and chaining powerful Battlecry effects by playing Elementals on curve. It also utilize removal and direct damage like Fire Elementa and Journey to Un'GoroKalimos, Primal Lord to close out the mid-game.

History

Elemental Shaman began in Journey to Un'Goro as one of Shaman's primary themes in the set. Despite strong tools such as Journey to Un'GoroKalimos, Primal Lord and Journey to Un'GoroStone Sentinel, the deck was too low power and inconsistent compared to other decks at the time. It saw minor support throughout the year, but failed to break into the meta.

The deck's first meta success came in The Witchwood with The WitchwoodHagatha the Witch, giving the deck a much-needed source of value to close out games. The archetype saw continued success through the year with The Boomsday ProjectMenacing Nimbus and The Boomsday ProjectElementary Reaction allowing for a more tempo-focused build. The archetype would once again fall to obscurity in 2019 as much of the support cards were rotated into Wild.

The deck returned in 2021 with the release of the Wailing Caverns mini-set, particularly the strong support cards Forged in the BarrensPrimal Dungeoneer and Forged in the BarrensWailing Vapor, propelled by multiple strong Elementals added in Forged in the Barrens. This version of the deck was the most tempo-heavy yet.
