Overview

In this Tavern Brawl, each player starts the game as a Death Knight hero from the Knights of the Frozen Throne. If the Hero card's Battlecry gives them a weapon, they also start the game equipped with one as well. The player's deck consists of 30 random cards from the Standard format.

Not all Death Knights are made equal, especially when they are available as early as turn 1. Frost Lich Jaina is very oppressive early game due to being able to ping away minions to summon a Water Elemental and also having Lifesteal on her elementals, making it very hard to come back if she can summon one early. Other stronger heroes are Uther of the Ebon Blade and Scourgelord Garrosh that start with Grave Vengeance or Shadowmourne equipped. On the other hand, Deathstalker Rexxar has a strong late game, provided your Zombeast RNG is decent, although playing greedy makes you vulnerable to aggro. The rest are more susceptible to card RNG.

Trivia

• The Tavern Brawl is the only method of hearing the Death Knight hero's opening remark emote, although they are identical to their summon emote except for Deathstalker Rexxar and Shadowreaper Anduin.
