Notes[]
- The battle ends with the player's victory when boss' has 1 HP or less.
- Boss always draws SI:7 Infiltrator, Ebon Gryphon, and Cursed Vagrant at turns 4, 5, 8 accordingly.
- The player always gets Shadowstep, Spymistress, Eviscerate on mulligan.
- These cards can be replaced with Backstab, Vilespine Slayer, Cheat Death. The replacement takes place from left to right (i.e., if the player replaced one card, he will receive Backstab regardless of whether Shadowstep or Eviscerate was replaced).
- The player's top twelve cards are arranged in the next order:
- Card 1 - Shifting Mana Wyrm
- Card 2 - Arcane Wraith
- Card 3 - Wink Fox
- Card 4 - Dirty Tricks
- Card 5 - Thistle Dagger
- Card 6 - Sabotage
- Card 7 - Cheat Death
- Card 8 - Bristling Wyvern
- Card 9 - Hooked Scimitar
- Card 10 - Battle Hawkstrider
- Card 11 - Backstab
- Card 12 - Shadowstep
Strategy[]

The battlecry of Wink Fox can be enjoyed twice by using Shadowstep. It's safest to pull Wink Fox back in the same turn because since it costs 3 mana this also means Daerion can use his hero power to summon a +1 weapon capable of killing Wink Fox if it's left out.
That said, this prevents you suffering 3 damage and also inflicts damage to Daerion, so it can be a beneficial trade even if it means missing out on a 2nd free card.
Delaying Wink Fox until you have 5 mana (not doing it on 3 or 4) allows you to Stealth it the same turn, protecting it from Daerion's weapon-summon. This allows doing a non-lethal attack with it next turn against a minion with 1 or attack prior to doing an unsummon/resummon to restore health and get the 2nd card. Or just keep stealthing it each turn and building attack higher and higher until a trade with a minion becomes necessary. Unsummoning will remove accrued buffs though.
The Combo effect of the Bristling Wyvern can be of great help in defeating Daerion, even though their Rush means they're only immediately useful against a minion (unlike Charge which allows immediate hero attacks). Playing lots of cards in a single turn can be done by stockpiling 0-mana cards like Backstab. You can even attack your own minion if he has none in play, just to get the +2/+2. Daerion does have a card to return summoned minions to hand which will lose your counters though, so it can be best to wait until after he plays it to build up the Wyvern.
Dialogue[]
Before match
- Valeera (present)
- After I was free, I set out to find Broll and Lo'Gosh. I had a feeling they'd already gotten into trouble.
- And it was worse than I thought - an assassin from Stormwind was tracking them. Since they were totally oblivious, it became my mess to clean up...
Introduction
- Daerion the Assassin
- Perfect. My target suspects nothing...
- Valeera
- Ah, but I do. So you'll have to deal with me.
Emote Response
- Daerion the Assassin
- Are you trying to trick me?
Hero Power
- Daerion the Assassin
- No one can know I'm here!
- You'll regret this!
- Your meddling will be the end of you!
Idle
- Daerion the Assassin
- I don't know how you tracked me, but I can't let you ruin my mission.
- It seems that your friend is hiding a lot from you.
- You have no clue what you're getting into. This goes way further than me...
Turn 1
- Daerion the Assassin
- How do you know who I am?!
- Valeera
- Let's just say you're not very good at your trade.
Turn 3
- Valeera
- Who sent you after Lo'Gosh?
- Daerion the Assassin
- Is that what you call him? Hahaha.
Turn 7
- Valeera
- If this is all it takes to be an assassin, maybe I should try it.
Death
- Valeera
- All right, this is the last time I'm asking! Who sent you?
- Daerion the Assassin
- A member of the guild never reveals his secrets.
- Valeera
- Have it your way.
- Valeera deals 1 damage to Daerion
Defeat
- Daerion the Assassin
- Now to finish my job... The man calling himself Lo'Gosh is near.
Lore[]
