- Captain Hannigan's opening quote is a possible reference to the phrase "Stop right there, criminal scum!" from The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. It is uttered by the guards whenever they catch the player committing a crime.
- Captain Hannigan's flavor text "Guards! GUARDS!!" is a reference to the Terry Pratchett novel "Guards! Guards!".
