Pit Commander full

Demons aren't just for hunting...

Big Demon Hunter is a control Demon Hunter deck type that uses late-game Demon minions with Demon synergy effects.

The bulk of the deck's power comes from large, high-cost demons like Demon Hunter InitiateHulking Overfiend and Ashes of OutlandPit Commander, with are helped brought into the board with Demon Hunter InitiateRaging Felscreamer. They use a number of mid-game AoE spells and Lifesteal minions to stabilize beforehand, such as Ashes of OutlandImmolation Aura and Ashes of OutlandAshtongue Battlelord. Other late-game threats like Ashes of OutlandPriestess of Fury and Ashes of OutlandCoilfang Warlord continue to add pressure after they've established control of the board with big demons.

Originally, the rampant success of aggro and midrange Demon Hunter made Big Demon Hunter not only generally outclassed, but their popularity resulted in the presence of many Warlock decks running LegacySacrificial Pact, which countered Big Demon Hunter moreso than any other Demon Hunter archetypes. With their biggest counter and other Demon Hunter cards nerfed, the deck started to see presence in the meta.
