Argent Commander (full art)

"To Northrend!"

Argent Commander is a rare neutral minion card, from the Classic set.

How to get

Argent Commander can be obtained through Classic card packs, through crafting, or as an Arena reward. Regular Argent Commander can also be obtained through the Highest Rank Bonus chest at the end of a Ranked season, or as a first-time reward for first time reaching Silver 10 or Gold 10 in Ranked mode.

Card Crafting cost Disenchanting
Argent Commander 100 20
Golden Argent Commander 800 100

Strategy

This is one of two 6 mana minions with charge available, the other being LegacyReckless Rocketeer. This leaves you with the choice between 1 more Attack or Divine Shield. In most cases you should opt for the Argent Commander since he basically gives you a free Attack into anything, regardless of its damage potential, and lets you deal quickly with, for example, high-damage Taunt minions.

Being able to deal a free LegacyShadow Bolt in damage and still having a 4/2 minion all for one card is extremely good value for six mana.

Works well with return effects such as LegacyYouthful Brewmaster and LegacyShadowstep, allowing the player to make the most of its Charge and Divine Shield abilities.

Lore

Wowpedia iconThis section uses content from Wowpedia.

The Argent Crusade is an order of holy warriors formed from the union of the Reformed Order of the Silver Hand and the Argent Dawn. Led by the paladin LegacyTirion Fordring, the Argent Crusade was a major contributor to the successful campaign in Northrend that toppled the Lich King.

According to the quest Tirion's Help, Tirion Fordring handpicked every member in the Argent Crusade in order to avoid infiltration by the Cult of the Damned. This was presumably to prevent a repeat of the Inigo Montoy incident, which resulted in Naxxramas returning to Northrend and Kel'Thuzad regaining corporeal form.
