A New Challenger... is an epic paladin spell card, from the Rastakhan's Rumble set.

How to get[]

A New Challenger... can be obtained through Rastakhan's Rumble card packs, or through crafting.

Card Crafting cost Disenchanting
A New Challenger... 400 100
Golden A New Challenger... 1600 400

Notes[]

  • Unless played by another class, only Paladin and neutral minions are possible to be summoned.

Strategy[]

On average, the minion summoned is around 6/6 Taunt Divine shield, making it a regular Taunt card. There are some high rolls, but unfortunately most 6-cost Paladin minions already have either Taunt or Divine Shield, wasting some of the value.

As a high-cost spell, this synergizes with Shirvallah, the Tiger and other spell-related cards.

Trivia[]

  • During development, Team 5 experimented with different Costs for the minions summoned by A New Challenger..., including 7- and 8-Cost minions, but they found the version that summoned 6-Cost minions to be the coolest and the one that offered the most interesting decision making.[1]
